Albertus Vembrianto is a photojournalist and documentary photographer who often works on independent projects in Papua, Indonesia and its surrounding areas.
In the past, he has created visual documentaries for a number of academic social researches and nonprofit organizations. Some of his photos have also been published in national and international media and journals. In addition to that, he co-authored two books—Arca and Carita Pawitra—that were published by indie publishers. A number of his works were published under the pen name Vembri Waluyas.
In 2009, he spent two months capturing issues of several Papua districts in pictures. In mid-2015, he and his spouse decided to live in Papua. He is currently working independently on a visual story about changes in the lives of Papuans. His portfolio can be seen on www.albertusvembrianto.com.
