Andri Saputra was born in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi in 1995. He encountered photography when majoring in Television Study in Makassar, South Sulawesi. He learned more about photography when he signed up for the second batch of regular classes in Galeri Foto Jurnalistik Antara (GFJA) Makassar in 2016. He started his photography career in 2018 as a photojournalist in Harian Rakyat Sulsel. He is currently still active in photo organization Pewarta Foto Indonesia Makassar. In 2022, he became the runner-up in the photo contest by The Indonesian Forum for Environment (WALHI), Climate Crisis in the Grassroots, Journalist category. His works have been published in various media, including beritagar. He also actively contributes for AFP news agency. To Andri, photography is part of the social interaction process. With that principal, he covers different social issues including metropolitan, politics, economy, and current affairs.
