Budi Setiyono is a journalist in Jakarta. He worked for several media in Semarang and Jakarta. He also has published a number of non-fiction books, especially on journalism and history, as well as editing for other writers. Nowadays he works as managing editor in historia.id, a popularly known historian magazine. He also teaches in writing course, particularly Kursus Narasi by Pantau Foundation, a non-profit organization who dedicate in journalism quality development in Indonesia. Budi Setiyono is known shortly by Buset.
