Born in Ciamis, October 28 1978, Cheppy majored in journalism at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences Jakarta (IISIP). He was an active member of the school’s photography club and he speaks two foreign languages fluently, namely English and German.

He has had experiences working as a photojournalist in business and economy-oriented magazine, Trust (2001-2003), then as a photo editor assistant at Tempo (2003-2007). Since 2007, Cheppy has been working at Kontan Business & Investment Daily.
