Fransiskus Parulian Simbolon is a photo journalist at KONTAN magazine with a multitude of experience in a number of local media such as Harian Batavia (2004), Berita Kota (2005), Tempo (2005), and Seputar Indonesia (2007). He regularly attends various photo exhibitions: among others were Editor Choice World Press Photo 2006, and Indonesia Photo Journalist Exhibition of 2007, 2009, and 2010.

Accolades received are Indonesia Photo Journalist Award’s Photo of The Year 2010, Runner-Up of Garuda International Photo Contest 2009, and First Prize International Photo Competition of Bina Nusantara.
