Suci Rahayu was born in Malang. She discovered photography since high school, but started to discover more when joining FOCUS Photography Club at her alma mater UMM (Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang) in 2013. Her career as a photojournalist started in 2008. Her interest in sport photography emerged when she joined Tabloid Bola at the end of 2013. She currently serves as an East Java-based contributor at the football desk of online media Kompas.com. She sees sport photography as a unique experience that requires focus and patience. Alongside four friends, she published a fanzine called Commonground in 2017. She is now an active member of PFI Malang photography organization, where she played a role in forming a free photography school - Sunday Market - since 2013.
