Projek terbaru Kadir yang menceritakan tentang kenaikan permukaan air laut dan dampaknya dalam skala global. Ia tak hanya fokus pada daerah-daerah yang terkena dampak langsung, dalam projek tersebut ia juga mengunjungi daerah relokasi bagi mereka yang terkena dampak kenaikan permukaan air laut.

Kadir van Lohuizen (The Netherlands, 1963) memiliki pengalaman panjang meliput konflik di Afrika dan beberapa kawasan lainnya, meski demikian sosoknya lebih dikenal melalui karya-karya projek foto jangka panjang seperti
“7 Rivers”, industri berlian dan migrasi di Amerika. Beragam penghargaan bergengsi telah diraihnya, diantaranya dua kali berturut-turut meraih penghargaan World Press Photo. Pada bulan September 2007, Kadir bersama 10 rekannya mendirikan agensi foto dan yayasan NOOR. Di tahun 2008, ia didaulat menjadi anggota Supervisory Board of World Press Photo.
Sampai saat ini, Kadir telah menerbitkan empat buku foto, beberapa diantaranya “Diamond Matters, the trail of the diamond” dan “Rivers”. Di tahun 2011, Kadir memulai projek “Via PanAm”, 12 bulan perjalanan di sepanjang jalur Pan-American. Projek tersebut memuat investigasi terjadinya migrasi di Amerika. Saat ini Kadir berbasis di Amsterdam.

Kadir’s latest project focuses on the consequences of the rising sea levels on a global scale. He looks both at the affected regions, and the areas for re-location of those affected.
A presentation of these photographs will now be shown in Jakarta.

Kadir van Lohuizen (The Netherlands, 1963) has covered conflicts in Africa and elsewhere, but is probably best known for his long-term projects on the seven rivers of the world, the diamond industry and migration in the Americas. He has received numerous prizes for his work, including two World Press Photo awards. In September 2007, Kadir and ten others established the photo agency and foundation NOOR. Kadir became a member of the supervisory board of World Press Photo in 2008. To date, he has published four photo books, including “Diamond Matters, the trail of the diamond” and “Rivers”. In 2011, Kadir started Via PanAm, a 12-month journey along the Pan-American highway, investigating contemporary migration in the Americas. Kadir is based in Amsterdam.
